How can I get involved?
There are many ways to get involved. Would you like to volunteer at a community event? What about sponsoring a child for Christmas? Or maybe you’d like to donate building materials for construction training of Tiny Houses? Do you have a location to place a Tiny House for someone in need? Or simply notifying us of a home for sale in need of minor or major repair is a much appreciated show of support.
What is a Tiny House?
The design of our Tiny House is 80 square feet. It provides a secure place of shelter for those without. The Tiny House is solar powered, allowing the resident to charge a cellphone, tablet or laptop, while reading under lighting. It is insulated and features two dual pane windows, and a sturdy, locking front door. It is built by students and young adults on a career pathway to a construction trade. The Tiny House features gray oak laminate flooring, 6″ flat baseboards, shaker cabinets, beautiful countertops, bedding, and designer paint colors giving the home a charming feel, and dignity to the occupant. We are looking to place a Tiny House on church properties whose mission is to serve those in need.
Do you have rental properties?
At this time, we do not operate as a property manager. However, as we grow, and as opportunities arise, we are looking for more ways in which we can provide affordable housing for those in need. We are currently working with government agencies to acquire properties to be used for this intent. If you, or someone you know is available to help us in this area, please contact us below.
Are you a non-profit?
Yes, KAVANAH is a 501(c)(3) non-profit public charity organization.
Does my donation go toward administrative costs?
No. Our minimal administrative costs are covered through the acquisition, rehabilitation, and selling of properties. 100 percent of your charitable donation will go to the purpose for which you have designated.
How can we as a church get involved?
We are currently seeking 5 churches whose mission is to serve those in need. We would like the church to place one Tiny House on their property for a member of their church community who is in need of shelter. We are also seeking churches to partner with us and Act of Love in outreach ministry. For more information, contact us below.
My son/daughter is in need of a job? Are you hiring?
Currently, we do not have an open position to fill. At times, however, we do need experienced, skilled laborers. In the meantime, it is suggested your son/daughter look for opportunities to volunteer their services with us, or contact us so we can connect them with one of our partner service providers who will help them obtain the training they need for employment.
